Use of the authorised 'SBID Design professional' title shows to clients and others within the industry that you have been recognised by a professional body for practicing at the highest of standard and demonstrates your commitment as a design professional. It also separates the qualified professional from the hobbyist and endorses their expertise, providing reassurance to consumers that an SBID accredited designer is qualified to the highest standard.
SBID accreditation is governed by the ECIA Charter of Education and continued professional code of conduct which sets the requirement for the official recognition of a practicing professional interior designer. SBID accredited interior designers have demonstrated the European standard required to become an accredited professional.
The ECIA requires 4 years of undergraduate education in interior design or interior architecture + 2 years working experience for full accreditation.
Accepted applicants will comply with the ECIA code of conduct, have more than 8 years working experience and hold valid professional indemnity insurance to receive full accreditation which demonstrates their commitment to professional excellence.
